Giving Tuesdsay

WHAT is Giving Tuesday?

Giving Tuesday began in 2012, on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, as a specific day to highlight the importance of giving back, following the material purchases of Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday. Last year, 177 million dollars was raised on Giving Tuesday worldwide!

WHEN is Giving Tuesday?

November 28, 2017

WHY be a part of Giving Tuesday?

Giving Tuesday is a global effort to push back against the commercialism and materialism of the holidays. It is a time to re-focus on the things that matter most.

HOW can you get involved?

1. Make a Donation!

  • On November 28, make an online donation on our quick, easy, and secure Giving Tuesday page: http://www.nwcounseling.org/giving-tuesday/
  • Celebrate Giving Tuesday by mailing a donation to: 8383 NE Sandy Blvd. Suite 205, Portland, OR 97220

2. Spread the Word!

  • Visit our Facebook or Instagram accounts (@ncc1986) and find client stories and Giving Tuesday announcements that you can easily share on your social media accounts.
  • Not a fan of social media? How about email? NCC has ready to use templates that you can access. Use these templates to tell your circle of friends and family about NCC and Giving Tuesday. The templates include the links to the NCC homepage, NCC Giving Tuesday page, and our social media accounts. If you would like to receive a copy of these templates, email info@nwcounseling.org.

WHO is the recipient of your Giving Tuesday donation?

All the money raised helps subsidize counseling for individuals who are underinsured or without insurance all together. Every client is eligible for sliding scale services, which are offered as low as $5 an appointment. More than 1,200 people each year come to NCC.  Your donation makes it possible for individuals, who otherwise are denied access to mental health care, to come and receive hope and healing.
