The Levantar Program
—LEA ESTA PÁGINA EN ESPAÑOL AQUÍ—
People in the Latine community in Oregon face many barriers to accessing mental health services. Language, culture, immigration status, financial limitations, stigma, or fear can all stand in the way. The Levantar program offers therapy with bilingual and bicultural staff, creating a new path to life-changing care.
About Therapy
Sometimes there are problems in our lives that we can’t solve alone. Individual therapy involves working with a therapist to plan and create positive changes in your life.
Many people seek therapy for many reasons, including depression, anxiety, dissatisfaction with life, resolving past trauma, feeling empty inside, abuse, or stress.
Therapy also serves as a useful way to grow. Therapy can help overcome barriers that are imposed by positive qualities such as joy, compassion, peace, self-esteem, and love.
These sessions can focus on current or past issues, experiences, thoughts, feelings, or relationships. Therapy can involve learning new skills, trying new behaviors, addressing problems, or ending behaviors that no longer serve our well-being or health.
Regardless of your reasons for therapy, our therapists will work with you to set personal goals, taking into account the emotional, physical, and spiritual dimensions of your life.

Our Levantar Therapists
How to Get Started
The first step in the counseling process is to fill out a Request for Services form, which you can find HERE. Or you can call our office to fill it out over the phone with one of our staff members.
After your screening is complete you will be matched with a counselor who best meets your needs. Your counselor will contact you to set up an appointment and answer any initial questions.
At this point, you will need to fill out new client paperwork. Your counselor will send you a link to our client portal, which has all the paperwork ready for you. This paperwork needs to be completed before your first visit. You can fill it out at home, or if you need access to a computer, you may do it in our office in the hour prior to your first appointment. Access our client portal HERE.
Video, Phone, and In Person Available
Depending on your circumstances or preferences, you and your counselor can decide whether you want your sessions to be in our office, by phone, or by video. Our therapists use Zoom or, less often, Google Meet, which are HIPAA compliant for your privacy and protection. Talk with your therapist about which option works best for you.
Insurance and Cost
We are contracted with most major insurance, most Oregon Health Plan, and Medicare Part B. Because each contract is different, we can’t tell you exactly what will be covered until we verify your benefits. As a courtesy to you, we will verify and file your insurance claims. However, please remember that our relationship is with you, not your insurance company.
We believe that professional mental health care is a right, not a privilege. Therefore, a sliding scale fee scale is available and designed to meet all financial needs.
