Sometimes clients need short-term or long-term psychotropic medication to complement therapy. Research supports that, for many issues, therapy and medication together work better than medication alone. When a client is actively involved in therapy, the need for medication may become unnecessary or only used for a time before tapering off. Because of this evidence, medication management clients at The Northwest Catholic Counseling Center must be in therapy to receive medication. Exceptions are made on a case-by-case basis.
