Clista (she/her/hers pronouns) has worked in the field of mental health for over 20 years, and has a prior career as an art teacher and professional artist. She has worked primarily as a dual-diagnosis clinician, working with clients who have co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, with a special emphasis on trauma recovery. She has experience in a wide range of settings, including secure residential treatment and supervision, residential and outpatient substance use treatment, outpatient mental health clinical experience and supervision. Clista has a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, is a Licensed Professional Counselor and approved independent LPC supervisor, a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor III and supervises CADC candidates. She is an avid gardener, outdoor enthusiast, especially for trail running in search of wild flowers. She continues to paint and is writing a recovery focused memoir.
