Jake says, "Counseling begins with a safe and supportive relationship. Every person is different and knows his or her life better than anyone else. Each person seeking counseling deserves to be seen and respected as an individual. It is my job to help my clients plan and use their personal strengths, resources and supports to find new ways to deal with the distress in their lives. In some situations, ways of dealing with things that were effective in the past, no longer work. I help my clients identify problem areas, create goals, and try out new ways of doing things that work for them."
