Amy Nist, LCSW – President

Psychiatric Consultation Liaison Services, Providence Health System

Providence Health System Amy is the Manager of Psychiatric Consultation Liaison Services for Providence Health and Services. She has over 20 years of experience in social services, serving the poor and vulnerable of our community, in domestic violence, addiction, criminal justice, mental health, and education.

Julie Rowland, PhD – Vice-President

Professor, Concordia University

Julie has been teaching mathematics at Concordia since 1979. She’s also coached volleyball and softball, served as Athletic Director, Director of Resident Living and advisors to many groups, including the Hawaii club. She travels annually to New Orleans with a group of students over Spring Break to do community service. Along with her work at Concordia, Julie is a Lay Associate of the Servite Sisters and loves to spend time with her many nieces and nephews.

Rich Katz – Treasurer

Executive Partner, Therapeutic Associates, Inc.

Rich is an Executive Partner with Therapeutic Associates (TAI) where he acts as Director of Contracting and Business Development and as the Executive Director for Northwest Rehab Alliance (NWRA). TAI and NWRA are networked providers of physical and occupational therapy throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and California. Rich brings close to 30 years of health plan negotiating, contracting, marketing and business development experience to the board of Northwest Catholic Counseling Center. He and his wife Barbara have two children.

Bethany Bacci – Secretary

Partner, Stoel Rives, LLP

Bethany specializes in Employee Benefits law at Stoel Rives LLP in Portland and has experience serving on non-profit boards. She believes in the critical importance of mental health and is passionate about enabling access to services and reducing the stigma associated with mental illness. Bethany enjoys spending time with her dogs, family and friends.

Sr. Sarah Deeby, OSM, LPC

Counselor, The Northwest Catholic Counseling Center

Counselor Sister Sarah sits on the Board of NCC as a member of the center’s sponsoring group Servants of Mary. As one of the Center’s founders she has been a vital part of the administration of the Center along with serving as a counselor. She brings her experience as an educator and counselor along with great passion for the mission of the Northwest Catholic Counseling Center and the people with whom she works.

Kyle Eilenfeldt

Access Services Assistant, Multnomah County Library

Kyle comes to the board with a long history of parish engagement and community partnership building experience. Previously, he served as Front Office Manager for Saint Andre´ Bessette Catholic Church and as a lead volunteer with Depave, an environmental non-profit that helps convert parking lots into green space. He is an active member at  St. Ignatius parish.

Sharon Johnson

Sharon brings more than 20 years development and fundraising experience to the NCC Board, including work with All Classical Public Media, the Portland Art Museum, Pacific Northwest College of Art, and the Friends of Washington Park Zoo

Michelle Meyer

Development Director, Caldera

Michelle is the Development Director at Caldera, a non-profit serving at-risk middle school and high school students from Portland and Central Oregon through arts and environmental programs. She has over twenty years of experience in non-profit fundraising having worked for both arts and environmental organizations, including the Ravinia Festival, the Portland Art Museum and SOLV. In addition to fundraising, she has experience working with non-profit boards, organizational management and strategic planning. In addition to the Northwest Catholic Counseling Center she also serves on the Board of Directors of the German American School of Portland and on the Advisory Council of the Washington County Nonprofit Network. Michelle, her husband Carl and two sons love hiking, camping, soccer and almost any kind of outdoor activity.

Rick Murie

Realtor, Realty Pro

Rick is a native of Portland and life-long resident of the Pacific Northwest. He currently lives in Vancouver, Washington. Rick and his children are former clients of the Center. His friendship with Center staff and support of its work has continued in the years since.

Rick is a residential real estate broker practicing in the Portland Metropolitan Area including Southwest Washington. His prior work experience includes eight-years as a field auditor and audit supervisor for the Washington State Auditor’s Office and 30-years in financial and cost accounting management for private corporations in technology and alternative energy.

Natalie Osburn

Natalie is a native Oregonian who has dedicated her career to education as a high school teacher, middle school administrator, and currently as the Assistant Superintendent in the David Douglas School District. She and her husband Bob “Oz” Osburn enjoy a variety of activities such as golf, biking, swimming, and race walking.

Erin Peters

Executive Director, The Northwest Catholic Counseling Center

Before joining NCC as Executive Director, Erin spent 15 years at SOLV, developing community environmental programs and engaging thousands of volunteers around Oregon. Her background also includes news production at KGW-TV in Portland, teaching high school English in Kisii, Kenya and serving as Special Advisor on Community Environmental Projects to the Kingdom of Bhutan.
